God Became Flesh

Isaiah 9:6 & 7

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon[a] his shoulder,
and his name shall be called[b]
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace
    there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

SERMON NOTES

A great many people are trying to make peace, but that has already been done. God has not left it for us to do; all we have to do – is to enter into it.   -DWIGHT L MOODY

  • The Prophet Isaiah prophesied that the coming Messiah would be called the “Prince of Peace”. How has Jesus fulfilled this prophecy? How has Jesus brought peace?

  • When you begin to lose peace within, what do you do to regain your peace?

  • How do we offer peace to a world that is in such chaos?

Scriptures to Consider

  •  Numbers 6:24-26
  • John 14:27, 16:33
  • Colossians 3:15
