Report of the Nominating Committee

The following elders have one more year to serve in their present 2 year term:

  • Mike Boldt (completed  second term of first year)
  • Del Dyck (completed  second term of first year)
  • Graham Jespersen (completed third term of first year)
  • John Olsen (completed first term of first year)
  • Russell Mueller (completed second term of first year)  

After prayerful consideration the nomination team is pleased to put forth the       following names for election to the board of elders: For re-election for a two year term:

  • Tim Wiebe (entering second term, year three)
  • John de Steiger (entering second term, year one)


For nomination for a two year term:

  • Dante Vinuya   (entering first term year one)
  • Fred Zelensky (entering first term, year one)
  • Anthony Toornstra (entering first term, year one) 


The following incumbents are stepping down after serving well, we thank them for their service:

  • Gerald Weighill (completed 3 terms = 6 years)
  • Tory Tebb (completed 2 terms = 4 years)
  • Mathew Clarke (completed 2 terms = 4 years)

I would like to state how grateful I am for these gentlemen.  The three who are stepping down have served with excellence.  Their servant hearts, courage and faith have been a great example to our fellowship. Thank you for all that you have done.

JOURNEY UPDATE

SGAC HOUSE OF PRAYER Plan to join us Sunday, September 17 at 6:00 pm for a night of unbroken modern worship, praise and prayer. Come and spend time in an atmosphere of scripture-based worship and prayer over our church and community. There will also be an opportunity for one-on-one prayer for those who would like to be prayed for.

DEEPER LIFE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (DLST) Orientation Questions & Answer session is on September 18 at 7:00 pm. For those interested in learning how they can earn their theology degree, come and meet with Pastor Coreen Frey & Russell Mueller.

WOMEN'S KICKOFF DESSERT NIGHT Tuesday September 19 at 7:00 pm. Find out what is coming up in Women’s Ministries at this event. Sign up at the Welcome Centre today. All women are welcome!

WOMEN'S DAYBREAK & EVENING EDITION STUDIES register online or in person at the Welcome Centre Sunday. Earlybird deadline for Daybreak is September 19. For more information check the Journey .

BAPTISM SERVICE September 24 AT 9:15 and 11:15 am. If you have been thinking of getting baptized, or have any questions about it - please contact Pastor Andrew.

CHILI LUNCH FUNDRAISER on September 24 hosted by Antigua Missions Team 2018.
Please join us in the Fireside room from 12:45 pm – 1:50 pm.  Receieve a beverage, desert, salad, bun and chili for a suggested cash donation of $10 for adults, $5 for kids or $30 for a family. Come for fellowship and food and support our Missions Team.

Annual General Meeting is Sept. 24 at 2:00 pm. All Members and Attendees are encouraged to attend. Annual Reports are available at the Welcome Centre.

YOUTH RETREAT Sept. 29-Oct. 01 Register online or at the church office. Cost is $115 for the first student and discounts for 2nd and 3rd within the same family. Contact Pastor Josh or Janet in the office for more information.

THE GYM CEILING REPAIR has started. We need volunteers September 25 & 26 to re-install light fixtures after the ceiling drywall is finished. Call Ed (780-945-0325), Ken (780-266-9613) or Peter (587-990-6694).

BREAKFAST AND WORK BEE September 30 at 8:00 am. We want to have as many hands as possible to make light work. For more information call Peter at (587) 990-6694.
