God’s Truth
Engagement
with God’s Word is transformational. Engagement is important because we realize
that reading God’s Word, the Bible, carelessly or just for information will not
likely lead to transformation. The Bible instructs us to be transformed by the
renewing of our minds, and the context of the passage reveals that this renewal
comes as we place ourselves in a yielding and responsive posture before God
(Romans 12). God’s Holy Spirit breathes life into the written Word
and awakens our spirit to respond. At SGAC we want to Grow
UP in God’s Truth.
Grow
TOGETHER in Community
Growth
happens best in community. Followers of Jesus are not meant to journey alone. We need the
stimulation of other believers, mutual encouragement, mentoring, and others on
the path to share our joys and sorrows (Romans 14:19, Hebrews 10:24,
Galatians 6:2). Jesus talked
about the Church as His Body, many parts coming together, where all parts are important
and purposeful. We need each other and we can’t journey alone! At SGAC, we want
to help you discover who God uniquely created you to be, and the special place
He has given you in His body so we can Grow TOGETHER in Community.
Grow OUT
in Speech & Service
All
believers are called to share and show. The Great Commission is for all disciples. It
is the responsibility of every Christ-follower to walk and talk in obedience as
he/she grows. Jesus makes it clear that all of His followers (not just leaders)
are part of His mission both to share the Good News and to show
God’s love in practical ways. That’s why we desire to Grow OUT in Speech
& Service.G

Our church is a member church of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, an evangelical denomination with roots in the nineteenth-century holiness movement. Since our humble origins among the poor in New York City, the C&MA has grown to become an international church-planting movement.
