What is a LIFE group?
A LIFE group is a group of people, who have come together to fellowship in Biblical community, a place where we are loved and where we learn to love others, and where we encourage one another to follow Christ in all aspects of our life.
We have LIFE groups for all ages. Our children experience their LIFE groups with an adult leader in our Discovery Island weekend children's ministry program. Our Youth (Jr. & Sr. High) have both large group activities as well as LIFE groups. Our adults have many groups available to them.
Why join a LIFE group?
Our lives are not to be lived for ourselves but for God and with God's people. When we come together with others, on this journey of faith, we are able to learn from them and to teach them what we have learned. We are able to share our blessings, our struggles, and to pray for one another. We are able to serve Christ and His Church in a setting small enough that we can use our gifts and talents to really care and make a difference in the lives of those around us.
LIFE Group Ministry is not our idea. It is God's, and is spelled out for us in Acts 2:42-47 which says:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
