The New Testament is more connected to the Old Testament than you would think.  “The New Testament picks up from the Old the theme that God intends, in the end, to put the whole creation to rights.”  These are the words of N. T. Wright which describes accurately the supernatural story written in the 27 books of the New Testament.  Understanding the New Testament will be a 9 week course presented in the same format as the previous terms Understanding the Old Testament course.  This course will focus on the fulfillment of Old Testament scripture in the person of Christ with emphasis on new covenant.  We will look into the life and death of the most influential figure in history, God’s own Son, sent to die to redeem His creation and fulfill His own promise to set things right from the time of exile from Eden.  We will briefly discuss the intertestamental period and then delve into the Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, the letters from the Apostles, briefly discuss church history, and decipher the final Revelation of Christ’s return as the one true king of this world.  Come and join us in this study as we endeavor, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to understand God’s special revelation to us in the person of Christ through the writings of the New Testament.  This is God’s story and we need to know it!
