Going Back...

Acts 14:19-23

Paul Stoned at Lystra

19 But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. 20 But when the disciples gathered about him, he rose up and entered the city, and on the next day he went on with Barnabas to Derbe. 21 When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. 23 And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

Sermon Notes

We are able to persevere only because God works within us, within our free wills. And because God is at work in us, we are certain to persevere. The decrees of God concerning election are immutable. They do not change, because He does not change. All whom He justifies He glorifies. None of the elect has ever been lost

-R.C. Sproul

Giving Update

SGAC General Fund Financial Update

Since the start of our "Live Stream" services it has been a challenge to project what our giving will be over the next few months and what spending adjustments will be required to ensure we are able to pay our bills.  Weekly giving has ranged from $5,900 to $36,000 but seems to be settling in at about $19,000. Our original budget required $25,000/week to maintain our current ministries.  As noted in our last update we have reduced our budget to try to meet this level of giving.  We have also been following announcements related to Federal subsidy programs such as the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) and the Temporary (10%) Wage Subsidy for Employers (TWSE).  If eligible these programs may provide some temporary assistance/stability to our funding and enable us to maintain our current ministries.  Our actual shortfall in the General Fund as of the end of March was $5,200.  If this virus continues to linger and the economy does not improve, our new 2020/21 budget which we normally develop in May/June will also need to be adjusted to meet available funding.

We would ask that you continue to pray for our ministry and would encourage you to maintain your giving to SGAC as you are able. We understand that some of you may have lost your employment and or are experiencing reduced pay but as God enables, we would encourage you to continue to give to SGAC to enable us to continue to pay our bills and maintain our ministry.

We continue to monitor the current environment weekly and even daily as things change and more information becomes available. Please continue to pray for those in our congregation and community that have lost their employment or have had their pay reduced and also that Government Aide will be approved and forwarded in a timely fashion so that we can continue to move forward with our ministry programs.  Thank you for your faithfulness.
