GOSPEL OF GRACE

As Pastor Brent begins his time with us, he is going to start with a series called “First Things First” For the next 5 Sundays he is going to share 5 things that he is passionate about as follower of Jesus.  You are going to hear him reiterate these things over and over in the years ahead.

-       A Collaborate Caring Community

Today we discuss “The Gospel of Grace” and we are going to dig into the often overlooked book of Philemon.  Let’s learn today what it means to not only be recipients of His grace but also conduits of His grace. Grace in - Grace out.

SEPTEMBER 4  we are back to two services 9:15 and 11:15am.  There will be a summer Wrap up for the children in Sunday School and the fall program for Sunday School begins on Sept. 11. 

YOUTH PARENT’S MEETING: NEW DATE & TIME! The fall is coming and so are our Tuesday evening Bible Studies and Friday night events. Join Pastor Josh to hear what he has for your youth this fall. Sunday, September 11 at 1:30 pm in the Fireside Room.  

AGM 2022: Sunday, September 18 at 2 pm. This meeting is open to everyone who attends SGAC but only members are able to vote.  There will be an online option for those unable to attend in person.  Watch for a Zoom link in the coming weeks.  The Annual Report will be available starting August 28.   

AWANA: Registration is now open for children and youth age 3 to grade 12 that would like to be part of our AWANA program this year. AWANA will start on Wednesday, September 7 and run through until the end of April. Go to sgac.net to register today! If you would like to help at AWANA this year please contact Kari. 

ADULT GROWTH GROUPS KICK-OFF Sunday, September 11: Join us for the exciting launch of our fall Growth Groups.  Get a first look at the catalogue with over 15 groups to choose from.  There will be an opportunity to meet the facilitators & sign up.  Food trucks will be onsite after both services. GRACE’S TABLE is in need of volunteers to ensure that this important ministry to our community continues.  If you are able to help out, please go to our website and fill out the volunteer form (Get Involved / Local & Global Outreach) where you can indicate your area of interest (kitchen, packing meals, clean-up, etc). Or call the church office to let us know your willingness to serve. 

GRIEF SHARE starts Wednesday, Sept 14 at 7:00 pm:  This 14 week grief support group offers help & encouragement after the death of a loved one & is open to anyone in the Parkland County area.  Click here for more information & to register.  The cost of the workbook is $25.

DEEPER LIFE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY our in person and online Bible school is starting Sept. 22 – 24 with Questions of Faith with Dr. Ian Bond.  This Philosophy of Religion explores questions like:  Does God exist, If God is good why does he allow suffering and is there life after death.  See Pastor Coreen after service to register or ask questions.  Earn your degree or study the bible more thoroughly for yourself. 

USHERS NEEDED for our 11:15 service: Would you be willing to serve once or twice a month assisting people in the Sanctuary, greeting and seating? Contact Pastor Andrew for more information or to volunteer. 

YOUTH BONFIRES: Youth, we are back! Join us on September 16 for bonfires at hosting acreages. Check the website calendar for Jr High and Sr High locations.

Giving Update

Please note the following options for giving: 

ONLINE GIVING
Whether it is a one-time gift or you would like to schedule a recurring donation, you can  give online to Spruce Grove Alliance Church.  This option allows you to give using a Visa debit card or the traditional Visa or MasterCard credit cards. 

PRE-AUTHORIZED GIVING
Pick up a pre-authorized debit agreement form from our church office or download one here. You can fill it out and then with a voided cheque - you can either scan it and email it to the office, or drop it off during regular office hours. 

INTERAC/DEBIT
During office hours, you can drop by and use the INTERAC/DEBIT machine at the Welcome Centre, then fill out your donation envelope as normal including your name, address, giving number and insert your debit receipt so we can disburse funds as directed in the Box on the counter. 

E-TRANSFER
Use E-Transfer to give at SGAC, using give@sgac.net.  Please include your offering envelope number and contact information.  In the notes section please indicate how you would like your donation designated, ie. General Fund, Canadian Ministries etc.. The money is deposited directly into the church account and does not require a security question.  (This method of giving is not to be used for registrations.) 

IN PERSON
During office hours, you can stop by the church office and drop off your donation in a sealed envelope.  Mark it Finance / Confidential

  • Our Christian Workers: Ray & Cindy Perry work with C&MA in Mexico. Ray’s parents attend SGAC.
  • Pastoral Team Staff Member: Pastor of Worship and Prayer – Pastor Andrew Bugiera. Andrew is married to Amy and they have two children.
  • Our Support Staff Team Member: Corina Langdon. Corina is married to Boyde and they have three adult children.
  • Our Elders Team Member: John Olsen. John is married to Arlene and they have four children.
