What Really Matters to God?
The Canaanite Woman's Encounter with Jesus - Matthew 15:21-28

Jesus's interaction with the Canaanite woman is really odd. It seems out of character. This passage will provide an excellent learning opportunity in reading the Bible. 

First, identify the problem. What seems strange about this passage? 

To appreciate what's going on here, we must read Scripture __________________. What is Matthew trying to communicate? 

What are some things that matter in that culture? 

What really matters to God? 

How does the story following the Canaanite woman's encounter with Jesus (the feeding of the 4,000) reveal about God's plan for humanity?

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING is available for nursery to grade 6.  Please visit the Check In Kiosk in the foyer to sign in your children. 

FRIDAY OFFICE HOURS are changing. For the months of November & December we will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. 

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES are due SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13. Please return your filled boxes by 1:00 pm on Sunday so that we can prepare them for shipping.

YOUTH RETREAT - November 18 to 20 at Camp Nakamun. Registration closes THIS Tuesday, November 15. The Cost is $150 per youth. Click here to register.  For more information contact Pastor Josh.

MISSING PERSONS - November 25 at 6:30 pm. We will head to West Edmonton Mall in search of our leaders in disguise. Parent volunteers will be needed for this event. Please let Pastor Josh or Lane know if you can help out. Note the time change for this event.

CHILDREN’S MUSICAL REHEARSAL - For all Grade 1 to 6  children that will participate in the ensemble for this year’s Christmas Musical.  We will have 3 Saturday morning rehearsals, November 26, December 3 and December 10 from 9:30 - 11:30 am.  The musical is on December 11 during both Sunday services.  For more information contact Pastor Coreen. 

HALLOWEEN CANDY DONATIONS - Children’s Ministry is looking for donations of candy to provide candy bags following the Christmas Musical. If you have extra candy that you would like to donate please
contact Pastor Coreen.

DLST - November 17-19, “Journey Towards Wholeness” with Dr. Ron Crossland. Join us for a spiritual/emotional growth model with emphasis on restoration. Topics will include replacing a false belief system, replacing wrong relationships and immature human response with God’s wisdom.  Contact Pastor Coreen to register or for more information. 

FAITH ON FIRE - Sunday, November 20 at 6:00 pm. Join us for a Night in Worship to our King. 

GRADE 5/6 COMMUNITY NIGHT - Friday, November 25 at 6:30 pm. Grade 5/6’s invite your friends for a time of fun hanging out together. 

SINGIN’ THE GOSPEL - Sunday, November 27 at 6:00 pm. Join us for special guests “3 & Company” and “Sterling John”. This is a free event, an offering will be taken.

Please note the following options for giving: 

ONLINE GIVING
Whether it is a one-time gift or you would like to schedule a recurring donation, you can  give online to Spruce Grove Alliance Church.  This option allows you to give using a Visa debit card or the traditional Visa or MasterCard credit cards. 

PRE-AUTHORIZED GIVING
Pick up a pre-authorized debit agreement form from our church office or download one here. You can fill it out and then with a voided cheque - you can either scan it and email it to the office, or drop it off during regular office hours. 

INTERAC/DEBIT
During office hours, you can drop by and use the INTERAC/DEBIT machine at the Welcome Centre, then fill out your donation envelope as normal including your name, address, giving number and insert your debit receipt so we can disburse funds as directed in the Box on the counter. 

E-TRANSFER
Use E-Transfer to give at SGAC, using give@sgac.net.  Please include your offering envelope number and contact information.  In the notes section please indicate how you would like your donation designated, ie. General Fund, Canadian Ministries etc.. The money is deposited directly into the church account and does not require a security question.  (This method of giving is not to be used for registrations.) 

IN PERSON
During office hours, you can stop by the church office and drop off your donation in a sealed envelope.  Mark it Finance / Confidential
